February is the month of love, valentines and other matters of the heart. Most importantly, it’s the month to focus on heart health. More than 50 years ago, February was declared American Heart Month, a period when our country should dedicate extra time, attention and energy to maintaining cardiovascular health. From the American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women®” day and “Life is Why we Give™” fundraising campaign, there are many programs put in place to help raise awareness about steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease – the No. 1 killer of U.S. men and women. In honor of these efforts, we will be sharing heart-healthy nutritional information, recipes and other tips throughout February. There are many measures – such as choosing a healthy diet – we all can take to help prevent heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases. Our goal is to provide you with a month’s worth of delicious, omega-3-packed seafood dishes that can help prevent heart attacks, stroke, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases.
Among these heart-healthy seafood meals are a couple extra-special dinner recipe ideas that can serve as the perfect date-night inspiration. Nothing says “I love you” quite like a delicious and nutritious seafood dinner at home, or at your favorite restaurant.
