- Does it smell fishy? Raw seafood that is not frozen should not have a “fishy” smell.
- Is the seafood discolored? Fresh seafood should not have dark edges or yellow discoloration. Frozen seafood should not have dark spots or any other discoloration.
- Does the seafood appear to be icy? Ice crystals should not be present on or in the seafood’s packaging.
