Happy June, Seafoodies!
And helllloooo, farmers markets! Oh, how we’ve missed you! Nothing screams summer (or complements seafood) more than fresh-picked, locally grown produce. We love strolling the stalls at our local farmers market, browsing all the vibrant fruits and veggies and bringing home whatever catches our eye. You too? Our June Meal Plan will help you create farm-to-table seafood dishes. These original Dish on Fish recipes emphasize fresh flavors and seasonal ingredients. If you tossed some lettuce, squash or berries in your basket, we’ve got the perfect tuna, shrimp and scallops recipes for you!
Start off with our smoked salmon breakfast bowl, piled high with eggs and farm-fresh veggies and topped with a tangy, turmeric-yogurt drizzle. At lunchtime, toss your farmers market greens with some delicious seafood for a warm-weather feast, such as the lemony shrimp salad with artichokes. For dinner, we love spiralizing our veggies (“voodles”) to serve with Asian-inspired seared scallops. And don’t overlook fruit—juicy blueberries or grilled peaches can add a welcome, sweet counterpoint to a seafood salad or stir-fry.
These light and satisfying dishes got raves from our taste-testers and are incredibly good for you—chock full of protein, heart-healthy omega-3s and essential vitamins and minerals to keep your mind and body in great shape. They’re also a cinch to prepare, making it easy to get the 2-3 servings of seafood a week recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
