Convenient, flavorful, and easy… these are just three words we love to use when talking about using a slow cooker (or instant pot) for our seafood recipes. The ability to combine an assortment of ingredients into one bowl, turn it on and then leave if for hours is a method of cooking we can definitely get behind. Not to mention the cleanup is super easy! And perhaps the best part? Because everything was made (and cooked) in one pot, there’s only one dish to take care of. While there’s no limit to the flavor-combinations with when making slow cooker soup, we love incorporating our favorite ingredient: seafood. As the DGA recommends implementing two to three servings of seafood into our meals weekly, these slow cooker soup recipes are the perfect way to get the recommended servings. Not only is including fish an excellent source of lean protein, but the broth created from the slow cooker is also a great Fish is an excellent source of heart-healthy protein and omega-3 fatty acids. Plus, fish contains other nutrients which are important for healthy skin and immune system.
