Seafood + Whole Grains = The Perfect Pair!

At Dish on Fish, we love delicious and nutritious seafood anytime, anywhere. But we also love seafood for its star power and ability to pair perfectly with nearly every kind of food, such as whole grains.

To celebrate Whole Grains Month, we’re highlighting a few of our favorite seafood and whole grains pairings: Salmon and quinoa. Scallops and buckwheat. Lobster and popcorn (keep reading!). Shrimp and brown rice. Fish and barley.

Seafood boasts nutrients with superstar health benefits, and studies show that eating it regularly (two to three times each week) can help boost heart and brain health, reduce risk of chronic disease and may even help you live longer. It’s also a great source of protein, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids, like DHA and EPA.

Whole grains also offer numerous health benefits, such as helping to maintain a healthy weight and cholesterol levels. Studies also have shown that whole grains can help reduce the risk of stroke, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Together, a seafood and whole grains duo make a tasty powerhouse packed with a nutritional punch. So get ready for these downright delicious recipes that are sure to become instant family favorites.
