#Seafood123: All About Clams

In honor of National Clam Day on March 31, we’re dishing about this delicious seafood. Also known as mollusks, clams are popular for their flavor, versatility and high nutritional value. One 3-ounce serving of clams provides about two-thirds of the daily amount of iron needed to fight fatigue and fuel your body for the day. Clams are also a complete protein, which allows your muscles to build and repair themselves regularly. Vitamin B12, which helps maintain nerve function, is also found in clams. We could stop there, but the list goes on a bit longer! Clams are a good source of selenium, magnesium, vitamin C, copper, phosphorus and riboflavin – all crucial in maintaining overall well-being. What’s your favorite way to enjoy clams? Here are some options, and don’t forget to celebrate with us on March 31.
