Beet the Sunday Scaries with These Superfood Seafood Pairings

Happy Sunday, seafoodies!

We’ve got a superfood roundup for you today that simply can’t be “beet.” If you’ve seen our previous produce + seafood roundups (such as “pumpkin, sweet potato & squash” or “spinach + kale”), you know we love to get inspired by the colors in our produce departments. Plus, we think vegetables and seafood pair perfectly. In fact, according to the USDA, most Americans eat too little seafood and too few vegetables, so time to get cooking!

In the spirit of embracing seasonal flavors, we’re zooming in on two satisfying superfoods – beets and pomegranates. Not only are these ingredients incredibly complementary to multiple types of seafood, both are packed with an impressive number of nutrients such as dietary fiber, protein, vitamin C and folate. Including beets and pomegranates in your diet alongside your favorite fish can help fight inflammation and aid digestion, among many other benefits. Plus, the nutritional benefits of a seafood and superfood duo makes for one power-packed meal!
