Ready for a little gift, Seafoodies?
Since we are serious celebrators of National Pescatarian Month, it only makes sense that we bring a little present to the party!
Living a pescatarian lifestyle—think vegetarian diet with the addition of seafood—can be a great choice for overall health and may help you reach your wellness goals. Rich in essential omega-3 fatty acids, high-quality protein and important vitamins and minerals, seafood offers an abundance of health benefits. From supporting heart and brain health to improving skin and boosting mood, the perks of going pescatarian are as vast as the ocean!
Which is why every October, we challenge ourselves to put together a new pescatarian-friendly recipe collection that showcases the spectrum of flavor that seafood has to offer. From the subtle sweetness of scallops to the rich depth of lobster—we explore it all. After testing and tweaking—and honestly a whole bunch of tasting (our favorite part!)—we narrowed everything down to a final difficult decision. The results? Eleven new family-friendly recipes to expand your pescatarian horizons—and let us tell you, this year’s lineup is one of our best yet!
Starting off strong with flavors from around the globe, our Korean Shrimp and Ramen Bowl is restaurant-worthy—and brings a taste of Seoul right to your dinner table. Or, how about an Instant Pot Cod Tikka Masala that’ll whisk you away to the vibrant streets of Mumbai and still leave you with enough time for a post-dinner walk?
And speaking of not having enough time, we know weeknights can be hectic—so we’ve included some super quick and easy options too. Sardine Toasts are a lifesaver when a speedy snack is needed. And by mixing in some canned crab meat and store-bought pasta, our simple and cozy Crab Gnocchi takes 15 minutes tops.
We haven’t forgotten about the kiddos either! Fire up the air fryer for Hot n’ Crunchy Fish Sandwiches and enjoy this fun twist on a classic favorite, that’ll have even the pickiest eaters asking for seconds (and in our experience, thirds too!). For family-friendly comfort food at its finest—whip up a batch of 7-Layer Tuna Pasta Salad, all wrapped up in a healthy pescatarian spin.
And that’s just the beginning! No matter which marvelous meals you decide to try—what we love most about this collection is how it proves that going pescatarian doesn’t mean sacrificing variety or flavor. In fact, it’s quite the opposite! These recipes show just how versatile and exciting seafood can be.
So why not use National Pescatarian Month as an opportunity to explore the endless possibilities of seafood? For anyone looking to incorporate more fish into their diet or fellow devoted pescatarians—the following recipes are sure to inspire your next meal!
