October Meal Plan – Celebrate National Pescatarian Month + Take the #Pescatarian Challenge

Hi Seafoodies,

We are excited to announce that October is National Pescatarian Month! You might be thinking “I’ve never heard of National Pescatarian Month”—and that’s because this is the first of its kind. At Dish on Fish we love to share how delicious and healthy seafood is, so it only makes sense for us to “Go Pescatarian!”

About 5% of the U.S. population identifies as a Pescatarian—meaning they follow a diet of seafood plus veggies, fruit, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds and, for some, dairy and/or eggs. There is a lot to learn about the health benefits of being a pescatarian; we’ll be sharing more during the month.

To kick off National Pescatarian Month, we have a special surprise for everyone: today we released the first Dish on Fish e-cookbook, “Everyday Seafood Recipes: 53 Quick and Easy Dishes.” It’s our gift to you (and your friends) and we hope you love it.

If you are interested in trying the pescatarian path, there are several ways you can join in this month—from ordering your favorite seafood dishes at a restaurant to cooking them at home. Dish on Fish has a month-long celebration planned, so please join us!

Start by jumping into this fun holiday and incorporating seafood into your meal plan at least 2-3 times a week throughout the month—or go all in with seafood!

Going pescatarian is a challenge that sounds downright delicious to us. That brings us to the October Meal Plan where we’ve partnered with some national retailers and organizations to share a few pescatarian recipes for cod, shrimp, clams, Wild Alaska Pollock, salmon, scallops, tuna, crab, tilapia and oysters. We’d love to hear about your favorites!
