You’ll Love This Insanely Delicious Fall Seafood Meal Plan

Hi, Seafoodies-

We’re kicking off September with what can only be described as a love letter to fall and the gorgeous season we’re about to embrace. The moment when you step outside and catch a hint of crisp air, when you notice the light starting to shift just slightly earlier each evening or the first time you see leaves begin to change colors—that’s autumn calling, and honestly, we’re SO here for it.

This time of year always feels like it whispers “slow down” after the whirlwind of back-to-school chaos and a fun, yet packed, summer calendar. As nature begins to prepare for a long winter nap, it’s a gentle reminder to take a breath, light a candle and make time for that mid-day walk around the block or meditation break.

This seasonal shift also calls us to be more intentional about our food choices. After months of quick summer snacks and squeezing in on-the-go meals between playing chauffeur and jumping on work calls, fall feels like a wonderful time to focus on dishes that truly nourish. Those wholesome, feel-good, nourishing meals that not only fuel our bodies, but our souls too. We start to crave recipes that anchor us, that bring the family together around the table and that remind us that food can be both medicine and comfort.

This is exactly why we’re obsessed with our transition-to-fall seafood meal plan—it’s designed around this season’s invitation to re-center and reconnect with good food, cozy moments and nurtured bodies as we slowly head into cooler months. Fall seafood cooking feels different from grilling sessions and summer salads. We’re bringing in heartier preparations that warm you from the inside out—like Salmon and Egg Hand Pies in the morning, Cod and Corn Chowder in the afternoon and nights of Instant Pot Shrimp and Cheesy-Chive Grits.

We are also embracing seasonal produce that pairs beautifully with seafood: sweet potatoes that complement crab’s richness, Brussels sprouts that add earthy depth to maple-glazed salmon and pumpkin that takes a simple scallop risotto and makes it taste like something straight from the table of a cozy cottage.

But beyond the seasonal flavors and chill vibes, there’s real wisdom in turning to seafood as fall settles in! As temperatures drop and daylight hours dwindle, our bodies benefit from omega-3 fatty acids to help support brain health and manage mood during darker months. Plus, the high-quality protein in species like cod, shrimp, salmon, tuna, swordfish, snapper, herring and lobster also assists in maintaining energy levels and muscle mass. And let’s not forget seafood’s immune-supporting nutrients—like vitamin D, zinc and selenium—that become especially valuable as we head into that dreaded cold and flu season.

So we invite you to settle in with us as you meal plan for this month. Linger over preparation, involve the family in cooking and make a conscious effort to sit down together to savor fall’s flavors together—maybe even without phones nearby during the meal.

Start to embrace the season’s slower rhythm and fantastic flavors—your kitchen (and family) will thank you for it.

Breakfast

Everything Salmon & Egg Breakfast Hand Pies

You’ll probably want to devour these pies as soon as they emerge from the oven, but they’ll keep well in the refrigerator or even the freezer.

Gluten-Free Lobster Crepes with Creamy Champagne Sauce

We’ve crafted a crepe batter that achieves that coveted thin and lacy texture without a speck of gluten—but you would never guess it!

Cast-Iron Smoked Salmon Hash

Served family-style, smoky salmon tossed with crisp potatoes, aromatic vegetables and briny capers—makes for a colorful and comforting breakfast.

Appetizer

Smoked Salmon Crostini with Delicata Squash Butter

Never sure what to make with squash? Problem solved! Ease into enjoying this iconic autumn flavor with a little help from this sweet and salty app.

Smoked Salmon Dip

Post party, try adding a dollop of this leftover salmon dip to a bagel, sandwich or omelet—for an instant touch of smooth and delicious elegance!

Gluten-Free Crab Cakes

There’s something about autumn that makes the mix of sweet crab, savory seasonings and a golden-brown crust supremely satisfying.

Instant Pot Curried Mussels

The best way to enjoy steamed mussels is to serve them immediately over some linguine or with a hunk of crusty bread—and be sure to sop up every drop of the magnificent sauce!

Lunch

Cod and Corn Chowder

We chose cod for this chowder because of its mild flavor and flaky texture—but any whitefish will work, resulting in a rich, bubbling bowl of goodness.

Gluten-Free Acorn Squash and Crab

Your family will flip for acorn squash with seafood! Its natural sweetness pairs smoothly with delicately flavored crab, and its hollow shape makes it the perfect edible bowl to hold a flavorful stuffing.

Shrimp Gumbo

What makes our gumbo different? There’s no roux! That means this recipe is quicker and easier than traditional versions, saving you time in the kitchen without sacrificing flavor.

Instant Pot Lobster Bisque

Start fall by the spoonful without hovering over a hot stove. An Instant Pot is the key to rich and tender lobster bisque—only 10 minutes of prep are needed before it simmers away on its own.

Dinner

Crab & Sweet Potato Cauliflower Gnocchi

Canned crab meat and store-bought gnocchi make this homemade meal both fast and convenient. Why make it harder on yourself?!

Air Fryer Maple-Glazed Salmon with Brussels Sprouts

Honestly, the true secret of this easy air fryer salmon recipe lies within the extraordinary sauce—combining the perfect balance of spicy sriracha, savory soy sauce and sweet maple syrup.

Instant Pot Shrimp and Cheesy-Chive Grits

It doesn’t get much cozier than creamy grits when it comes to comfort food, but when they’re topped with tender shrimp in a scrumptiously seasoned gravy, you’ve got a Southern classic that’s downright delicious!

Pumpkin Risotto with Seared Scallops

Pumpkin is a classic fall flavor, but it’s often overlooked beyond pies and sweet breads. This recipe shows how beautifully it pairs with seafood—and why it deserves a spot in your savory lineup.
